A Michigan family is grieving after a pregnant woman was fatally shot and her infant — delivered at the hospital afterward — died days later.

Ashley Williams, 34, was shot at a residence in Flint, Michigan, on Tuesday, Feb. 10, according to reports citing police. She was six months pregnant and died after being taken to the hospital.

Doctors were able to deliver her baby boy, Isaiah Ryan, but he later died from his injuries on Thursday, Feb. 12, according to the family in an online fundraiser.

Isaiah was described by the family as a “miracle baby,” as Williams did not think she could become pregnant, her mother, Kathy Williams, said in an interview.

The fundraiser, which was initially created to help cover Isaiah’s medical expenses, said he had been placed on life support. After his death, the page was updated with a message from the family: “Baby Isaiah put up a good fight, but God chose to have him rest easy with his momma. 2/10/26-2/12/26. 2 days will never be long enough.”

Kathy Williams said Ashley had gotten into a car with two men before the shooting. When she attempted to leave, one of the men allegedly shot her.

Authorities have not released additional details about a motive or suspects. The investigation remains ongoing.
