In a birthday letter sent to Jeffrey Epstein in 2016, filmmaker Woody Allen compared the disgraced financier to Dracula.
According to The New York Times, Allen wrote the letter for Epstein’s 63rd birthday, referencing the eclectic guest lists at his parties, which included “Politicians, scientists, teachers, magicians, comedians, intellectuals, journalists,” and more.
Allen also described the parties’ atmosphere, noting that the food was occasionally served by young women who reminded him “one of Castle Dracula, where [Bela] Lugosi has three young female vampires who service the place.”
Despite the high-profile attendees, Allen criticized the food, stating it was often unimpressive—sometimes just Chinese takeout. He claimed his wife, Soon-Yi Previn, had to push Epstein to provide more substantial meals at the gatherings.
The Times reported that several of Epstein’s associates sent him letters for the occasion, including Allen. Many referenced social events hosted at Epstein’s residence on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the same neighborhood where Allen and Previn also live.
Among the others who reportedly wrote to Epstein were former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and billionaire media mogul Mortimer Zuckerman.
The report also noted that Epstein’s New York City townhouse displayed numerous photos of him with prominent figures, including President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton, Fidel Castro, and Pope John Paul II.
Epstein died in a New York City jail in 2019 after being indicted on federal *** trafficking charges. His death was officially ruled a suicide, though it remains the subject of widespread controversy. In 2008, he had previously pleaded guilty to prostitution-related charges in Florida.
Allen, now 89, began a relationship with Previn, 54, while he was still romantically involved with her adoptive mother, Mia Farrow. He has also been accused of ***ually abusing his daughter Dylan Farrow—allegations he has repeatedly denied.
