YouTuber Adam the Woo, whose real name was David Adam Williams, has died at 51.

Williams was found dead at his home in Celebration, Fla., on Monday, Dec. 22, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said. TMZ was first to report the news.

In a statement, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said deputies initially responded to the home for a welfare check but were unable to make contact.

“The residence was secured, and no contact was made with the adult male residing there,” the spokesperson said. “Deputies then responded back to the location for an unattended death at 2:53 pm. A friend had borrowed a ladder and looked in the 3rd story window to see a male on a bed that was not moving. Upon entering the residence with Fire Rescue, the male was reported deceased.”

The sheriff’s office said Williams’ father was notified.

A medical examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death, which remains under investigation.

Friends and fellow creators shared tributes online. YouTube vlogger Justin Scarred wrote in a Facebook post that he was heartbroken, calling Williams “a giant” and “a friend closer to me than blood,” and asking people to pray for Williams’ family.

In an Instagram post, Williams’ friend Chris Yon said he had visited Williams just four days earlier and described their time together in Celebration, including riding around in a golf cart to see holiday decorations and talking about future plans. “I’m in complete shock,” Yon wrote.

Williams launched his YouTube career in 2009 and later created his most well-known channel, The Daily Woo, in 2012, according to Fox 4. On the channel, he posted daily vlogs for five years, traveled to all 50 states, and shared videos featuring theme parks, haunted houses, small towns, and other events.
