Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Thursday that he is willing to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but only once Ukraine has secured firm security guarantees. He suggested Switzerland, Austria, or Turkey as potential venues for such a summit.

“We want to have an understanding of the security guarantees architecture within 7-10 days. And based on that understanding, we aim to hold a trilateral meeting,” Zelensky said, noting that U.S. President Donald Trump would also be part of the discussions.

Speaking to several media outlets, including AFP, Zelensky emphasized flexibility on location. “Switzerland, Austria — we agree. For us, Turkey is a NATO country and part of Europe. And we are not opposed,” he said.
