A beloved star of the 1980s and 1990s was spotted out in Los Angeles on July 2, turning heads with her refreshed appearance and graceful embrace of aging.

Bridget Fonda, a member of the legendary Fonda acting dynasty, was photographed running errands in L.A., looking noticeably slimmer and proudly wearing her natural gray hair—a choice many have embraced since the pandemic reshaped beauty norms and routines.

The 61-year-old actress, daughter of late film icon Peter Fonda, rose to fame with roles in You Can’t Hurry Love and Shag before earning widespread acclaim in the 1989 political drama Scandal. Her performance as showgirl Mandy Rice-Davies opposite Sir Ian McKellen earned her a Golden Globe nomination at just 25.

Fonda’s acting résumé is packed with hits from the late ’80s through the early 2000s, including The Godfather Part III, Single White Female, Doc Hollywood, Singles, Army of Darkness, It Could Happen to You, Jackie Brown, A Simple Plan, Lake Placid, and After Amy, which brought her a second Golden Globe nomination in 2002.

In 1997, she also received a Primetime Emmy nomination for her role in In the Gloaming, a television miniseries alongside Glenn Close, Whoopi Goldberg, and Robert Sean Leonard.

Bridget, the niece of Jane Fonda and granddaughter of the legendary Henry Fonda, stepped away from the spotlight after marrying Oscar-nominated composer Danny Elfman in 2003. The couple welcomed their son, Oliver, in 2005 and have since led a private life outside of Hollywood.

When asked in a rare 2023 interview with the Daily Mail if she ever planned to return to acting, Fonda answered plainly: “I don’t think so. It’s too nice being a civilian.”
