Fox News host Jesse Watters is getting criticism after joking that President Donald Trump’s son, Barron Trump, 19, should marry 27-year-old actress Sydney Sweeney to create “the greatest political dynasty in American history.”

Watters made the comment on The Five the same day President Trump posted on Truth Social calling Sweeney “hot.” In his post, Trump praised the actress — who is reportedly a registered Republican — saying she had “the HOTTEST ad out there.”

On TV, Watters also complimented Sweeney, saying, “Every girl wants to look like her, and every guy wants to look at her.” He then suggested that Democrats would try to discredit her by “calling her a Nazi” and boycotting the company she advertised for.

Taking the joke further, Watters imagined her marrying Barron Trump, claiming it would “create the greatest political dynasty in American history.”

Supporters React Angrily
Many Trump supporters were offended by the comment and voiced their anger online. Some called Watters’ remarks “gross,” with one person writing, “I seriously can’t stand this dude. Watters is the biggest political hack at Fox News.” Others mocked him, saying he sounded like he was “writing in his daydream journal” or questioning if he was “OK.”

Some social media users dismissed the idea entirely, saying Sweeney was “out of Barron’s league” and that he’d “only have a chance if he paid for it — just like his father.”

Trump Comments on Sweeney
When asked about Sweeney being a Republican, President Trump said he was surprised but happy to hear it. “If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic,” he said.

Sweeney’s recent American Eagle commercial has sparked controversy, with critics claiming it promotes unrealistic beauty standards, appeals to the male gaze, and lacks diversity. In the ad, Sweeney jokes, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue.”
