A 34-year-old man was admitted to Los Angeles General Medical Center on July 31, but the hospital is still working to determine who he is.
The man was found near Torrance, Calif., without any identification, according to KTLA. Health Services described him as having brown eyes, dark brown hair, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing around 166 lbs.
Because of patient confidentiality, the hospital has not released details about his medical condition or treatment. However, in a photo obtained by PEOPLE, the man appears to be on a ventilator with thick gauze pads covering his eyes.
Anyone who recognizes the man is encouraged to contact the Social Work Department at 323-409-5253 or reach Laura, a clinical social worker, at 323-409-7779.
A similar case remains unresolved in New York City. In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, Mount Sinai Hospital said a woman has been receiving care at its Morningside campus since she was admitted on April 12.
The woman was discovered at a bus stop on 125th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem after a bystander called 911.
“The woman is known to frequent the area around 125th Street and Lenox Avenue, and hospital staff think she may go by the name ‘Pam,’ ” the statement said.
“She usually dresses in black and hides her face,” it continued. She has now been hospitalized for more than 100 days.
Mount Sinai described the patient as Black, possibly in her 50s, about 5’8 tall, weighing 170 lbs., with dark brown eyes and greying black hair
