I Hope You’re Happy features 11 tracks and includes collaborations with Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Darius Rucker, Shaboozey, Thomas Rhett, Ella Langley, and more.
“This album’s my heart, my story — the love, the loss, the heartbreak, the grind,” BigX said in a press release.
He added, “I wanted people to feel it all with me, the highs, the lows, the real life that shapes you. I Hope You’re Happy is me mixing my urban roots with that country soul, tellin’ my story straight up, just me.”
To coincide with the album release, BigX also dropped a music video for his collaboration with Jelly Roll, titled “Box Me Up.”
In the days leading up to the release, the “Hit List” rapper celebrated the RIAA platinum certification of his 2024 album Take Care on social media. He revealed that he had “fallen into the darkest hole I’ve ever been in.”
“I questioned my purpose for life. I questioned my goals. I even questioned being on this very earth,” he wrote on Instagram. “Depression and the life of being @bigxthaplug was moving faster than I could ever think of for the first time since I’ve been [an] artist. I let everything out and put it into this project.”
