Influencer Esmeralda Ferrer Garibay, 32, Found Dead Inside Abandoned Car with Husband and 2 Kids

Influencer Esmeralda Ferrer Garibay has died at the age of 32.

On Aug. 22, four bodies were found wrapped in plastic inside a pickup truck in the San Andrés neighborhood of Guadalajara, Mexico, prosecutor Alfonso Gutierrez Santillan said during a press conference. Days later, they were identified as the content creator, her 36-year-old husband, and their two children, ages 13 and 7, according to El Financiero.

The outlet also reported that three men who worked at a nearby mechanic shop — where the truck was abandoned — were arrested. However, they were later released due to a lack of evidence linking them to the murders.

Local authorities say the investigation into the family’s deaths is ongoing.

Garibay launched her TikTok account, Esmeralda FG, in April 2020. She started by posting comedic lip-syncing videos, but as her following grew to more than 43,000, she shifted to lifestyle and travel content.

Her final post, uploaded on Aug. 7, showed her driving on her ranch. In another recent video, she shared her white dog running across her lawn.

After news of her death, many of her followers left messages of grief and sympathy in the comments section of her last video.

“May God have mercy on her and her family 💔 Something you don’t wish on anyone…” one user wrote in Spanish, later translated.
