Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ignited a wave of backlash on Monday after calling former President Donald Trump a “vile creature” during a televised interview — a remark that immediately drew condemnation from conservatives who accused her of fueling divisive rhetoric.
During an interview with CNN’s Elex Michaelson, Pelosi didn’t hold back her views on Trump. “He’s just a vile creature, the worst thing on the face of the earth,” she said. When Michaelson pressed her to confirm whether she truly believed that, Pelosi responded, “I do, yeah, I do.”
When asked why she felt that way, Pelosi explained, “Because he’s the president of the United States and he does not honor the Constitution of the United States. In fact, he’s turned the Supreme Court into a rogue court. He’s abolished the House of Representatives, he’s chilled the press, he’s scared people who are in the country legally.”

Her remarks spread quickly across social media, prompting sharp criticism from conservatives.
“More dehumanizing Democrat language about Republicans,” NRCC National War Room director Ben Petersen wrote on X.
Political commentator Piers Morgan also weighed in, writing, “Worse than Hamas terrorists? Iranian mullahs? Putin? Jong-Un? Democrat dinosaurs like Pelosi don’t know anything but over-demonising Trump. It’s why they’re polling so badly.”
Fox News contributor and former Trump campaign operative Steve Cortes added, “There cannot be a ‘compromise’ with hateful Leftist charlatans. It’s an unbridgeable gap. We just have to win. Let’s do it!”
Conservative strategist Steve Guest also criticized Pelosi, posting, “I see Nancy Pelosi has ZERO interest in toning down the rhetoric.”
A Trump White House account went further, calling her comments evidence of “hatred,” adding, “Very sad to see what little was left of her addled, demented mind evaporate as she becomes fully engulfed in hatred. Sick!”
When Fox News Digital requested a comment, a spokesperson for Pelosi’s office responded by sharing a screenshot of a Newsweek article titled, “Trump Launches Attack on Nancy Pelosi: Disgusting Degenerate”.

According to NBC News, Pelosi is expected to “make an announcement” about her political future after Election Day, with some reports suggesting she may retire at the end of her term.
However, her office gave no indication of such plans.
“Speaker Pelosi is fully focused on her mission to win the Yes on 50 special election in California on Tuesday,” spokesperson Ian Krager said. “She urges all Californians to join in that mission on the path to taking back the House for the Democrats.”
“Yes on 50” refers to Democrats’ campaign encouraging California voters to allow the state legislature to temporarily bypass its nonpartisan redistricting commission in order to pass a new congressional map that would favor Democrats in the 2026 midterm elections.
