More than a year after a Florida man went missing, authorities say his work-issued truck has finally been located in a secluded, wooded area.
According to a statement from the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, “On August 27, 2024, Ian Rogers was reported missing … He was last seen on August 26, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., leaving a residence off Shadeville Road in Crawfordville, Florida.”
Rogers was believed to be driving a white 2019 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck at the time he disappeared.
Investigators noted that neither Rogers nor the truck had been seen for over a year — until November 9, 2025. Shortly before 1 p.m. that day, the missing truck was discovered deep within a wooded area off Old Plank Road, south of Tram Road in Leon County.
Authorities say the scene has since been examined, and the investigation remains active.
A missing persons bulletin from 2024 stated that Rogers was last seen in Crawfordville wearing a black hat, sunglasses, a blue long-sleeve dry-fit shirt, a white undershirt with a design, tan cargo shorts, and brown work boots. He also has a tattoo on his lower right forearm.
This summer, on the one-year mark of his disappearance, Rogers’ mother Teresa shared her heartbreak with ABC affiliate WTXL.
“Ian is funny, and he’s kind,” she said. “He’s always cracking jokes … he’s fun to be around.”
His family said he had left his mother’s home that day to head to work. Teresa described the painful uncertainty: “It’s like having a treasure and someone stole it, and you don’t know where it is. You don’t know if it’s safe.”
Speaking to CBS affiliate WCTV, she also noted that Rogers had just received a work promotion — and his son was only a day away from turning 10 when he disappeared.
“He never would’ve missed that,” she said.
She urged the community to remain alert and report anything that might lead to answers.
“Even if you don’t think it’s anything, it might be,” she told the outlet. “I just want to find him … keep your eyes open, and if you see something, call. Please.”
