Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a cardiologist who previously served as physician to the late Vice President **** Cheney, said Wednesday that Donald Trump should receive a new medical evaluation after an unusual moment in the Oval Office.

Reiner, now a medical analyst for CNN, posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) that appears to show Trump closing his eyes for an extended stretch while surrounded by officials, aides, and guests during the signing of a bill that would allow whole milk to be served in school cafeterias.

“The president seems to be struggling with excessive daytime somnolence,” Reiner wrote, pointing to multiple instances in recent weeks in which Trump has appeared to nod off at public events.

“Repeatedly falling asleep with a dozen people surrounding your desk is not normal,” he added. “It needs to be evaluated.”

Reiner has questioned Trump’s health on several prior occasions as well.

Most recently, he criticized the president for taking doses of aspirin he said exceeded standard recommendations. Last month, he also said he was concerned after Trump appeared “unwell” during a speech, citing his tone and what he described as “manic” pacing.

“I’m seriously concerned about the health of the president,” Reiner said at the time. “No one should be happy to see the president like this. He looks unwell.”
