A pregnant woman was attacked by two hooded figures — one of whom was allegedly carrying a baseball bat — just after leaving work in Racine, Wis.

Gheonna Lacy had finished a morning shift as a caretaker at a group home on Jan. 15 when the assault happened, she told WISN.

Footage captured by a Ring camera and reported by the outlet shows two hooded individuals running off-camera, with one appearing to hold a bat. Moments later, screaming can be heard.

“They just immediately knocked me to the ground,” Lacy told the outlet. “Started swinging the bat. Stomping me with their feet.”

According to WISN, Lacy is a mother of two. She said she tried to shield her unborn child as the attack unfolded.

“She was starting to kill the baby,” Lacy said, per the outlet. “As a pregnant person, you feel like you’re safe. Like no one is going to touch you.”

Lacy also told WISN that she recognized one of the attackers as a woman she claims had been stalking her following a relationship dispute. She said she did not recognize the second suspect, whom she described as a man.

TMJ4 reported that no suspects had been arrested as of Tuesday, Jan. 20.

A GoFundMe organized by Lacy’s employer says she was struck with a metal baseball bat and suffered “blows to her stomach, face, and entire body.”

“Gheonna is currently hospitalized, where both she and her unborn child are being closely monitored,” the organizer wrote. “This traumatic incident has left her physically injured, emotionally shaken, and unable to work at this time.”

So far, the fundraiser has raised more than $3,000.
