Donald Trump says he’s “anti” Green Day and Bad Bunny — the two acts set to take the stage at Super Bowl LX — calling the bookings “terrible” and accusing the choices of fueling division.
In an interview with the New York Post, the 79-year-old president reacted to the performers scheduled for the NFL’s Feb. 8 game: Green Day slated to open the event, and Bad Bunny headlining the halftime show.
“I’m anti-them,” Trump said of the longtime critics of his administration.
“I think it’s a terrible choice,” he added. “All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.”
Trump attended last year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, but said he won’t be traveling to San Francisco for this one — and insisted the performers aren’t the reason.

“It’s just too far away,” he said. “I would. I’ve [gotten] great hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like me.”
“I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter,” he added.
Green Day, announced earlier this month as the act to kick off the 2026 game, have openly criticized Trump dating back to his first term. The band has a long track record of weaving political statements into its music, including altering lyrics to their hit “American Idiot” to take aim at Trump’s “MAGA agenda.” They’ve also sold shirts featuring Trump’s mugshot to raise money for charity.
Bad Bunny — born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio — has likewise been outspoken. The Puerto Rican singer-rapper drew headlines last year after opting not to bring his record-setting Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour to the U.S., citing fears tied to the administration’s immigration crackdown, including mass deportations and the deployment of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

“There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate — I’ve performed there many times. All of [the shows] have been successful. All of them have been magnificent,” Bad Bunny told i-D last fall.
“But there was the issue of — like, f—ing ICE could be outside [my concert],” he added. “And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”
After Bad Bunny was announced as a Super Bowl performer in September, he celebrated with a post on X, saying he had been thinking it over and, after discussions with his team, would do “just one date in the United States.” He added that the performance would be “for my people, my culture, and our history.”

Days later, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem threatened that ICE agents would “be all over” Super Bowl LX. Trump also previously dismissed the artist, saying he hadn’t heard of him.
“I don’t know who he is,” Trump said while calling into Newsmax’s Greg Kelly Reports last fall. “I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s crazy, and then they blame it on some promoter that they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
Super Bowl LX will take place on Sunday, Feb. 8.
