Kamala Harris has said she is still considering whether to run for president again in 2028.

The former vice president and 2024 Democratic presidential nominee discussed the possibility during a recent conversation with podcaster Sharon McMahon. When asked directly about another presidential campaign, Harris said she has not made a final decision.

“I haven’t decided,” she said. “I might.”

Harris has made similar statements in previous interviews. In an October 2025 interview with the BBC, she said her grandniece would “for sure” see a female U.S. president in her lifetime. When asked if she meant herself, Harris replied, “Possibly.”

“I am not done,” Harris added. “I have lived my entire career in service, and that commitment is part of who I am.”

In July 2024, then-President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race and endorsed Harris as the Democratic nominee. After a 107-day campaign, Harris lost the November 2024 election and left the White House with Biden. It marked the first time in more than two decades that she did not hold a public office.

Harris later addressed her future in July 2025, announcing that she would not run for governor of California, a role she had been considering.

In a statement, Harris said she had given serious thought to the decision but ultimately chose not to enter the race. She also explained that, for now, her public service would continue outside of elected office.

Harris said she plans to spend time listening to voters, supporting Democratic candidates, and sharing more about her future plans in the coming months.
