A White House spokesperson issued a sharp warning to The View co-host Joy Behar on Wednesday, suggesting her show could be the next to face cancellation following her latest outburst against President Donald Trump.
Behar launched into a fiery monologue during the broadcast, criticizing Trump for calling on federal authorities to investigate former President Barack Obama over alleged involvement in the origins of the Trump-Russia probe.
“Who tried to overthrow the government on Jan. 6? That wasn’t Obama,” Behar said. “Trump’s obsessed because Obama is everything he’s not—smart, trim, married, talented, and he can sing Al Green better than Al Green. It drives him insane.”
In response, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers released a blistering statement to Fox News Digital, accusing Behar of “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and taking aim at The View’s ratings.
“Joy Behar is an irrelevant loser suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Rogers said. “It’s no surprise The View hit record-low ratings last year. If she doesn’t get her act together, her show could be next to be pulled off-air.”
“The View” Fires Back
A spokesperson for The View pushed back, telling Entertainment Weekly that the show’s viewership has actually grown, particularly among key demographics. According to their data, The View is having its most-watched season in four years and ranks #1 among all network daytime talk shows for five consecutive seasons.
Cancel Culture or Political Backlash?
The White House’s statement comes just days after CBS confirmed that it would cancel “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in May 2026, citing financial losses estimated at $40 million per year. While CBS said the decision was strictly business, critics and media insiders argue that Colbert’s outspoken anti-Trump stance likely contributed.
Piers Morgan added fuel to the fire, recently suggesting that The View should also be canceled in light of Trump’s comeback.
A report published this week revealed that Colbert’s manager knew about the cancellation weeks before the host himself, further stirring speculation that behind-the-scenes politics played a role.
