Explosive new court filings have revealed a coordinated effort by Rebel Wilson’s crisis PR team to launch a “heavy” smear campaign against film producer Amanda Ghost, including plans to create anonymous websites falsely accusing her of sex trafficking.
The revelations, surfaced in Los Angeles Superior Court as part of ongoing litigation over Wilson’s directorial debut, The Deb, include transcripts of voice notes and text messages. In these recordings, digital strategist Jed Wallace is allegedly heard instructing crisis publicist Melissa Nathan on how to frame Ghost as a criminal figure to “expose” her.
The ‘Heidi Fleiss’ Strategy
According to a transcript introduced during a deposition, Wallace suggested a strategy that would move beyond simple professional criticism.
“We can’t just do like, oh, she’s a bitch, she sucks,” Wallace reportedly said in the recording. “It’s got to be really, really heavy… Amanda Ghost is like the new Heidi Fleiss. She’s actually getting hookers for Blavatnik.”
The reference is to billionaire Len Blavatnik, the founder of Access Industries, which owns Ghost’s production company, AI Film. Blavatnik has declined to comment on the allegations. Ghost’s legal team, led by high-profile attorney Camille Vasquez, characterizes these planned narratives as “unmistakably defamatory.”
A Pattern of ‘Untraceable’ PR Tactics
The figures at the center of the Wilson dispute — Jed Wallace, Melissa Nathan, and attorney Bryan Freedman — are also embroiled in a remarkably similar legal saga involving actress Blake Lively.
In a separate lawsuit filed in the Southern District of New York, Lively alleges the same PR team orchestrated a “sophisticated and well-funded retaliation campaign” against her during the production of It Ends With Us. Unsealed documents from that case previously detailed a $25,000-per-month plan for “mostly untraceable” social media services designed to manipulate public perception through anonymous accounts.
Status of ‘The Deb’ and Ongoing Litigation
The fallout from these legal skirmishes has effectively paralyzed the release of The Deb. Originally set for a late 2024 launch, the film’s theatrical debut has now been pushed to April 2026.

Camille Vasquez: Wilson was the ‘Driving Force’
In a statement to the press, Vasquez argued that the newly submitted evidence directly contradicts Wilson’s sworn testimony.
“Rebel Wilson has repeatedly denied any involvement in the creation of the smear websites,” Vasquez said. “We, however, had long suspected that she was the driving force behind them. This may not have been the writing credit she was seeking, but it is the one she deserves.”
Wallace’s representatives have dismissed the allegations, claiming the audio was leaked out of context and noting that he has been dismissed from certain related litigation while denying participation in any smear campaigns.
