At least seven people have died and 11 others were injured after a passenger bus collided with a truck on a highway in southern Turkey, officials said.
The crash happened on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 6, on a route between the cities of Izmir and Gaziantep, according to Turkey’s state-owned Anadolu Agency (AA). The passenger bus reportedly slammed into the rear of a truck that was stopped on the road because of a flat tire, per AA.
Multiple police units and emergency teams were sent to the site of the collision. Initial statements from the Osmaniye Governor’s Office said seven passengers on the bus were killed and 11 others were injured in the crash.
