Benny Blanco’s Mom Barricaded Herself in the Bathroom During Burglary at Her Home: Police

Benny Blanco’s mother, Sandra Levin, went through a terrifying ordeal this week when three intruders broke into her Studio City, Calif., home, forcing her to lock herself in a bathroom while they moved through the house, according to police.

The break-in happened around 9:15 p.m. local time on Monday, Nov. 24, when three men allegedly entered the property by smashing a sliding glass door, ABC7 reported. After hearing the noise, Levin ran upstairs, locked herself inside a bathroom and called 911, the outlet reported, citing the Los Angeles Police Department.

Although authorities did not publicly identify the victim, neighbors and property records indicated the home belongs to Levin, according to ABC7. She reportedly told officers that the suspects kicked down the bathroom door during the incident.

Police said a burglary call was dispatched stating that the caller was in her bedroom when intruders forced their way into the home and ransacked the residence. The suspects fled after realizing someone was inside.

By the time officers arrived, the men had already taken off and remain at large. They were wearing dark clothing and masks when they entered the home, NBC Los Angeles reported.

Authorities said Blanco’s mother was not physically injured, but several rooms were left in disarray and unspecified items were taken from the property, per ABC7.

Over the years, Blanco, 37, has spoken fondly about his close bond with his mother. In a 2024 interview, he described her as his “best friend.”

“Every Sunday we go to the farmer’s market. I cook her lunch, we swim, we gossip about stuff,” he said. “She sends me things and is like, ‘Do you think it’s true?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t even know who these two people are we’re talking about.’”

Levin has also been publicly supportive of Blanco’s relationship with his wife Selena Gomez, whom he married in September. She is such a fan of the couple that she wears a special memento of them around her neck.

Blanco, born Benjamin Levin, is the younger of Sandra and her ex-husband Andrew Levin’s two sons. He has one older brother, Jeremy, 37.
