Billie Eilish is publicly criticizing Elon Musk as he moves closer to becoming the world’s first trillionaire.

In several Instagram Stories posted on Thursday, Nov. 13, the 23-year-old artist referred to Musk, 54, using explicit language, calling him a “f—ing pathetic p—- bitch coward.”

Her remarks accompanied a reposted Instagram carousel originally shared by “My Voice, My Choice.” The first slide displayed an image of Musk with a message outlining what he could potentially do with the massive wealth projection.

The following slides presented global humanitarian initiatives Musk could fund, suggesting that he could:

  • Spend $40 billion annually to end world hunger by 2030
  • Invest $140 billion over the next seven years to provide universal clean water
  • Contribute $1–$2 billion per year to help bring thousands of critically endangered species to a safer conservation status

Another slide claimed that approximately $53.2 billion could rebuild Gaza and the occupied West Bank, while additional spending — potentially over $793 billion — could help reconstruct Ukraine and Syria.

Eilish’s posts come shortly after a major shareholder vote at Tesla. On Oct. 6, nearly 75% of Tesla shareholders approved a performance-based compensation package that could eventually elevate Musk to trillionaire status, according to CNBC and Business Insider.

However, Musk must meet a series of milestones before earning the full payout. The compensation plan reportedly requires him to:

  • Increase Tesla’s market value to $8.5 trillion by 2035
  • Sell 12 million vehicles per year
  • Deploy 1 million robotaxis and 1 million humanoid robots

In addition, Musk must remain Tesla CEO for at least seven and a half years while still being allowed to lead his other ventures, including SpaceX and the AI startup xAI.

Musk’s rising net worth has coincided with a surge of political backlash. Demonstrations were held earlier this year outside Tesla showrooms in response to his involvement with federal budget cuts while serving in the Department of Government Efficiency for President Donald Trump’s administration, as well as his alignment with right-wing political positions.

Eilish has previously spoken out about the influence of billionaires. During her acceptance speech for the Music Innovator Award at the WSJ Magazine Innovator Awards on Oct. 29 — delivered in a room that included Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg — she openly criticized extreme concentrations of wealth.
