Attorney General Pam Bondi has dismissed Maurene Comey — daughter of former FBI Director James Comey — from her position as a federal prosecutor, according to multiple reports.

Politico, citing “two people familiar with the matter,” reported that Comey was removed from her role at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. The specific reason for her termination has not yet been disclosed.

Maurene Comey previously led several high-profile prosecutions, including the case against convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. She also served as a lead prosecutor in the recent racketeering and sex trafficking case involving music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.

ABC News corroborated the firing through its own sources, although both the Justice Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan have declined to comment on the matter.

Investigative journalist Laura Loomer noted on X (formerly Twitter) that the firing came two months after she publicly urged Bondi to remove both Comey and her husband, Lucas Issacharoff, from the DOJ.

“Issacharoff, who also works in the Southern District of New York’s Civil Division, has a documented history of anti-Trump sentiment,” Loomer wrote. “No confirmation yet on whether he was also dismissed — but he should be.”

The firing comes amid reports that the FBI has launched an investigation into former CIA Director John Brennan and James Comey himself, regarding their roles in the Trump-Russia probe.
