A Fort Worth bookstore is going viral after a customer unexpectedly went into labor during a visit — and the staff launched a sweet search to find the family afterward. Monkey and Dog Books shared the moment on Instagram, calling the newborn the store’s very first “book baby.”

In the caption of their first reel, the bookstore wrote, “Help us find the book baby!” They explained that a “lovely couple” visited the shop and that the woman went into labor while she was there.

The bookstore said they wanted to find the new parents, adding they had “a gift basket and a lifetime discount” waiting for the family. The post quickly drew comments and shares as viewers helped spread the word.

In the video, Seth — who said he and his wife own Monkey and Dog Books — introduced himself and asked viewers for help. “We need your help,” he said, explaining that while plenty of memorable moments have happened at the store, this was a first.

He listed everything from engagements to birthday parties and author visits, but said nothing compared to what unfolded next. “We’ve never had a baby at the shop,” he said.

Seth shared that the couple arrived on Jan. 19, 2026, and appeared to be enjoying their time browsing. Then, he said, “She goes into labor to the excitement of everybody.”

But amid the surprise and urgency, he explained that no one caught the couple’s names before they left. Seth said the booksellers “just didn’t get their name as they rushed off to the hospital or to their birthing center.”

That’s why he turned to Instagram for help tracking them down. “We would love to meet them,” he said, adding that they wanted to know “the name of the baby” and celebrate the moment properly.

He also said the family earned a special reward for the unforgettable visit. “We’d love to give them a lifetime discount to Monkey and Dog Books because we feel like they earned it,” he said.

Seth ended the video by encouraging viewers to share the post widely. “Please share this so that we can find them,” he said, adding, “We are so excited that this happened.”

Soon after, the bookstore returned with a happy update. In a follow-up Instagram post, Seth thanked everyone for commenting and sharing, saying it helped connect them with the mom.

He said the store received an email from a mom who confirmed she had been there and had gone on to deliver a baby boy. Seth added that “everybody is happy and healthy” and announced, “We found the book baby everybody.”
