Logan Carter was injured in the accident at Wharton Recreation Ground in Winsford on Friday, Aug. 29, around 6:11 p.m., according to a statement from Cheshire Constabulary.

Emergency responders from North West Ambulance Service tried to save him, but Logan was pronounced dead at the scene, The Independent reported.

Detective Sergeant John Rhodes said in a statement obtained by The Independent, “As part of our investigation into this incident, we are asking anyone who may have been in or around the Wharton Recreation Ground area just off Ledward Street in Winsford at around the time of the incident and saw anything that may aid us in our enquiries, to please get in touch.”

He also urged people not to speculate online while the investigation is ongoing.

Logan’s family released a statement through Cheshire Constabulary, describing him as a “much-loved son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, cousin and friend to many.”

“He had an infectious personality and a beautiful smile,” they wrote. “Everyone wanted to be where Logan was. He was a little boy so full of life who wanted to make everyone laugh. He made every day worth living.”

Logan’s father, Rob Carter, also shared a tribute on Facebook, writing, “When I [woke] up on Friday my little mate, I didn’t think that would be the last time I get to see you. My heart has been ripped in two.”
