Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may have finalized their divorce, but the legal fallout from their marriage continues—this time centered on their former shared asset, the French estate and winery Château Miraval.

Though Jolie sold her stake in the property back in 2021, Pitt is now seeking to depose her business entity, Nouvel LLC, through which the sale was made. He claims the deal was done behind his back and in violation of their agreement.

Pitt Seeks Deposition From Jolie’s Company

According to The U.S. Sun, Pitt has formally asked the court to force Jolie’s company, Nouvel LLC, to provide testimony about its initial investment in Château Miraval and its subsequent financial role in maintaining the estate and winery. He’s making the same request of Tenute del Mondo, the subsidiary of the Stoli Group that bought Jolie’s share for a reported $65 million.

Pitt contends Jolie not only sold the stake without required approval, but also gave Stoli’s negotiators insider information to help them outbid him.

Pitt Alleges Secret Negotiations With Stoli

In newly surfaced court filings, Pitt claims that while Jolie was supposedly in talks with him and his business partner Mark Perrin, she was secretly advancing negotiations with the Stoli Group.

A lawyer for Stoli allegedly contacted Jolie’s divorce attorney in March 2021 to propose a deal. Despite her ongoing discussions with Pitt through May, her legal team reportedly gave Stoli “detailed feedback” — including how to beat Pitt’s offer.

Eventually, Jolie agreed to sell for a price Pitt was never given a chance to match. He now argues this was a deliberate attempt to cut him out of a key business they once built together.

Divorce Finalized, But Tensions Linger

After more than eight years of legal wrangling, Pitt and Jolie finally finalized their divorce in December 2024. Jolie, through her lawyer, said the process had been emotionally draining but expressed relief that it was over.

“She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt… Frankly, Angelina is exhausted,” her attorney said in a statement to CNN.

Details about their financial settlement and custody arrangement for their two minor children were not made public, though it’s widely believed Jolie retains primary custody.

Pitt Reflects on Closure, Keeps Focus on Loved Ones

In contrast, Pitt downplayed the divorce’s significance in a GQ interview, calling it “just something coming to fruition—legally.”

More recently, at the premiere of his new film F1, Pitt opened up about learning from personal mistakes.

“No matter the mistake, you just learn and move on,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “It leads to the next success.”

He also hinted that surrounding himself with close friends and family has become central to his well-being.

“At my age, I see how important it is to be around the people you love and who love you back,” he said. “That’s the foundation—then you go out and create.”

As for the Miraval feud, it shows no signs of wrapping up anytime soon.
