Erika Kirk has offered an emotional update on how her young children are coping nearly two months after the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk.

In a conversation with Fox News‘ Jesse Watters, Erika spoke candidly about her daughter and son’s response to the loss of their father. During a preview of the interview — which will air in full on Jesse Watters Primetime on Wednesday, Nov. 5 — Watters asked if her 3-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son still ask about their dad. Erika said that her daughter, in particular, continues to have questions.

“My daughter continues to ask,” Erika shared. “But it’s really sweet because I keep explaining to her a few things. I said, ‘If ever you want to talk to daddy, you just look up to the sky and start talking to him. He can hear you.’ ”

She added, “And I told her, ‘You know, daddy is in heaven.’ She goes, ‘You think I could go sometime?’ I said, ‘Baby, we will all go one day. We will all go one day.’ ”

Back in September, Erika spoke publicly for the first time about her husband’s death and how their children were adjusting. She explained that she chose to describe the tragedy in a way her young daughter could understand.

“What do you tell a 3-year-old? She’s 3,” Erika said during a Sept. 12 press conference. “I said, ‘Baby, daddy loves you so much. Don’t you worry. He’s on a work trip with Jesus, so he can afford your blueberry budget.’ ”

Charlie Kirk, the CEO and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was killed on Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University during his “American Comeback Tour.” Authorities later arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who now faces multiple charges including aggravated murder. Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray announced in September that prosecutors will seek the death penalty.

That same month, Erika was granted a protective order preventing Robinson from contacting her.

The Kirks had long been intentional about keeping their children’s identities private. “We have a girl and a boy and it’s no one’s business what their names are or their faces,” Charlie said in a June 2025 video. Their daughter was born in August 2022, and their son arrived in May 2024.

Following Charlie’s death, Erika stepped into his role as CEO of Turning Point USA, the conservative advocacy group he founded at age 18. “We will not surrender or kneel before evil,” TPUSA’s board members said in a Sept. 18 statement announcing her leadership. “We will carry on. The attempt to destroy Charlie’s work will become our chance to make it more powerful and enduring than ever before.”

In addition to his work with Turning Point, Charlie hosted The Charlie Kirk Show and was known as a prominent conservative commentator and close ally of Donald Trump ahead of the 2020 election. His outspoken Christian beliefs shaped many of his positions — including those that drew criticism for being anti-LGBTQ+ and dismissive of transgender people — and his fiery campus debates frequently went viral across social media.
