An Ohio woman who was brutally attacked during a recent street fight is speaking out as she continues to recover.
Identified only as Holly, she expressed gratitude in a recent video, thanking “everyone for all of the love and support.”
Holly shared that she is still dealing with “very bad brain trauma” and remains in recovery. “It is very humbling that you have sent your prayers, your blessings,” she said in the video, which was obtained with her permission by WLWT. “It’s definitely what’s keeping me going, and you have just brought back faith in humanity.”
Footage of the violent brawl, which occurred on July 26, quickly went viral. Authorities have since arrested at least four individuals connected to the incident.
“Let me be clear, there is no place for violent crime in Cincinnati — whether it’s fight or gun violence,” Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval said during a Friday press conference, according to Fox News. “We will pursue those responsible and we will hold them accountable no matter who they are, period.”
In an interview with the Cincinnati Enquirer, Holly said she sustained a serious head injury and concussion, requiring multiple hospital visits following the attack in downtown Cincinnati.
She explained that she had been out celebrating a friend’s birthday when the incident unfolded. “We were waiting on our Uber outside and that’s when it all started,” she recalled.
