A Department of Homeland Security officer was captured on video kicking over a candle at a memorial honoring Renee Nicole Good, the woman who was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.
The clip, first posted on Bluesky and later shared on X, shows a uniformed officer wearing a patch that reads “Police DHS” walking through an outdoor memorial. Chalk messages are visible on the ground, including Good’s name.
It’s unclear where the memorial was located — or whether it was even in Minnesota, where the shooting occurred.
In the video, the officer kicks the candle and then turns toward a nearby protester, telling the person to “back up.” The protester asks what the candle was for.
“I don’t give a f—,” the officer replies.
Good was fatally shot while driving her car near ICE agents on Wednesday, Jan. 7. The Associated Press reported she was a 37-year-old mother of three who lived in Minneapolis.
“Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” Good’s mother, Donna Ganger, told The Minnesota Star Tribune. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”
DHS has claimed Good “weaponized her vehicle” and that the agent acted in self-defense. Local leaders, including Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, have challenged that account.
“They are already trying to spin this as an action of self defense,” Frey said at a press conference. “This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody getting killed.”
