Kate Middleton’s blonde hair didn’t last long — during her latest outing, she was back to her well-known brunette look.
The Princess of Wales, 43, attended the Women’s Rugby World Cup match between England and Australia on Saturday, Sept. 6, at the American Express Stadium in East Sussex, England. For the event, Kate styled her brown hair in a loose half updo, just days after appearing with blonde highlights earlier in the week.
Celebrity hairstylist Sam McKnight, who worked with Princess Diana for years, recently defended Kate against criticism about her hair. He wrote on Instagram that a woman’s hair is personal, describing it as “armor, defense, confidence and so much more.”
While Kate cheered on England, Prince William attended a separate Women’s Rugby World Cup match between Wales and Fiji at Sandy Park stadium in Exeter.

Kate has been the patron of the Rugby Football Union since February 2022, taking on the role after Prince Harry stepped back from royal duties. Prince William, also 43, has been patron of the Welsh Rugby Union since 2016.
Kate and William’s love for rugby is something they share with their children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7. Royal editor Roya Nikkah of The Sunday Times has noted that William once joked the rugby rivalry in their household had become “quite the thing,” though he tried to stay neutral.
Earlier this year in March, the Prince and Princess of Wales attended the Wales vs. England Six Nations Match together, marking their first rugby appearance in years. The visit included meeting with injured players supported by the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust and greeting athletes and their families.

Kate and William made their public return to royal duties on Sept. 4 after a seven-week summer break with their children. The family spent time at Balmoral Castle in Scotland before preparing to move into their new home, Forest Lodge, in Windsor Great Park. The residence, with eight bedrooms, will replace their current home, Adelaide Cottage.
