Donald Trump Ally Reacts to Ghislaine Maxwell Testifying About Epstein

Roger Stone, a longtime ally of President Donald Trump, has embraced reports suggesting Ghislaine Maxwell may be willing to testify before Congress about her connection to Jeffrey Epstein.

In a post on X, Stone dismissed speculation that Maxwell could implicate Trump, asserting:

“Personally, I like the news that Epstein’s pimp Maxwell is ready to testify before Congress. Bill and Hillary [Clinton] are going to be very embarrassed. She has nothing on Trump.”

Why It Matters

Jeffrey Epstein’s case continues to generate controversy years after his 2019 jailhouse death. Though the Trump administration has pledged transparency—launching a review and promising to release associated names and records—a recent Justice Department and FBI memo concluded that there is no Epstein “client list” and no further charges will be filed. That finding has sparked outrage among critics demanding full disclosure.

Last week, the DOJ released 11 hours of surveillance footage from Epstein’s prison cell to support its conclusion that he died by suicide. However, some observers claim parts of the video appear to be missing, fueling ongoing doubts. Attorney General Pam Bondi has faced mounting pressure, with critics calling for her resignation over the DOJ’s handling of the case.

What We Know

According to the Daily Mail, an anonymous source close to Maxwell claims she’s ready and willing to testify publicly before Congress, adding that no plea deal was ever offered and she has never been asked to share her knowledge with the U.S. government.

“She would welcome the chance to tell the American public the truth,” the source reportedly said. “She remains the only person to be jailed in connection to Epstein.”

Newsweek has not independently verified the report.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence following her 2022 conviction for aiding Epstein’s sex trafficking operation.

What People Are Saying

  • FBI & DOJ memo: “While we have labored to provide the public with maximum information… no further disclosure would be appropriate or warranted.”
  • White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, in a statement to The Hill: “President Trump is proud of Attorney General Bondi’s efforts to restore integrity to the DOJ and bring justice to victims. Attacks on her leadership are unfounded.”
  • President Trump, via Truth Social on Saturday: “They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! We have a PERFECT Administration… and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it—all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein. For years, it’s Epstein, over and over again.”

What’s Next

Despite efforts by the Trump administration to shut down further discussion of Epstein, public interest continues to grow. If Maxwell is formally asked to testify, it could reignite scrutiny over Epstein’s network, his political connections, and the government’s response to his case.

The pressure now falls on Congress to decide whether to call Maxwell to speak—and on the DOJ to maintain its commitment to transparency amid widespread distrust.
