Ed Kelce Shares Photo with Taylor Swift and His Girlfriend Maureen Maguire as He Mourns Her Death

Ed Kelce is revisiting cherished memories as he mourns the loss of his longtime girlfriend, Maureen Anne Maguire.

The father of Travis Kelce, 35, and Jason Kelce, 37, recently shared a heartwarming throwback photo featuring himself, Maguire, and Taylor Swift, who is currently dating Travis. The image, uploaded to Maureen’s obituary page, shows the trio smiling together in full Kansas City Chiefs gear as they rallied behind Travis’ team.

In the photo, Swift wears a Chiefs crewneck sweatshirt, holding a friendship bracelet in one hand and a card reading “Taylor Swift” in the other. Ed and Maureen stand proudly beside her, both donning Travis’ No. 87 jersey.

Back in February 2024, Ed shared with the Los Angeles Times a light-hearted anecdote about Maureen and Swift’s early interactions. During a photo op with the pop star, Maureen had playfully quipped, “Hey, that’s my boyfriend,” prompting laughter from Swift.

In a separate January 2024 interview with Audacy’s 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, Ed recalled a humorous moment when he couldn’t remember Swift’s name during a gathering at Travis’ home. “When Travis has a lot of friends coming into town to go to the game, everyone meets at his house, although he’s not there,” he explained. “There can often be up to 20 people there before a home game.”

Describing the scene, Ed said, “Taylor comes in, walks in with a security guard and I look at her … and I had my girlfriend with me and I mention to Maureen, ‘Oh, my God, I know this kid but I don’t know what her name is.’ Geez, you know, like a real idiot.” Maureen quickly chimed in, “‘You don’t know her? This is Taylor Swift, you idiot.’”

On August 2, Ed shared news of Maureen’s passing via a link to her obituary on his personal Facebook page.

According to the obituary, Maureen “passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.” She was remembered as a “devoted mother” with “impeccable taste.” Ed was described as her “beloved friend,” and the tribute noted how she regularly attended games with him.

“She also grew an unexpected love for football later in life, sharing many laughs and adventures with her beloved friend Ed Kelce and her loyal dog Butch,” the obituary from Stretch Funeral Home in the Philadelphia suburbs reads. “Together, they traveled often and attended football games and concerts, and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.”

Maureen was also remembered as a “natural hostess” who was “famous for throwing the best parties, always full of warmth, laughter, and unforgettable food.”

Ed was previously married to Jason and Travis’ mother, Donna Kelce, for 25 years. The couple, who wed in the late ’70s, divorced in 2011. Ed later explained in the 2023 Kelce documentary that they remained together for the sake of their sons, calling separation during that time a logistical “nightmare.”

Maureen Maguire is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, her brother John, and her sister Loretta.
