A 66-year-old Fort Worth man has confessed to killing an American Airlines flight attendant who vanished in March, according to police.

Dennis William Day was arrested and charged with murder after allegedly admitting to strangling 47-year-old Rana Nofal Soluri, who had been living with him for about a year. Soluri was last seen or heard from in mid-March and was reported missing by a concerned coworker on June 11 after she stopped responding to messages on March 19.

Soluri had been on medical leave following a minor surgery and was scheduled to return to work on March 31 but never showed up.

According to police records, officers were first dispatched to Day’s home on May 8 after Soluri’s car—which she had purchased just a week before her disappearance—was found parked outside the residence. A second welfare check took place on June 10. Investigators determined the last confirmed sighting of Soluri was on March 21.

During a search of Day’s home on June 23—which he reportedly consented to—police discovered surveillance footage showing Day dragging what appeared to be a lifeless body across the floor.

Initially denying involvement, Day later told investigators he “snapped” during an argument with Soluri after she began recording him and threatened to call police. He admitted to strangling her on the kitchen floor, then dragging her body into the backyard. Upon noticing the security cameras, he said he disconnected the equipment, placed her body into a trash bin, and drove to an area near Bowie where he disposed of it over a bridge.

Although Soluri’s body has not yet been recovered, investigators said her phone last pinged in that same region.

Day remains in custody at the Tarrant County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
