A glove containing DNA found near Nancy Guthrie’s home may be connected to the masked, armed individual seen in previously released surveillance footage from the abduction site, the FBI said.
An FBI spokesperson stated that the recovered glove “appears to match” the gloves worn by the person shown in Nest doorbell video that authorities released on Feb. 10. In that footage, a masked individual is seen tampering with a camera at Guthrie’s front door on the morning she was kidnapped.
According to the FBI, the glove believed to be a visual match was found in a field along the side of a road about two miles from Guthrie’s home in Tucson, Arizona. The spokesperson added that investigators collected approximately 16 gloves from the area near her home, though most were discarded by searchers.
The FBI indicated the apparent match is based on visual comparison, noting that final forensic testing is still pending. The agency said it received preliminary lab analysis results for the collected gloves on Feb. 14 and is awaiting official test results, which will then be checked against a database.

Guthrie, the mother of three, was last seen at her Tucson home on the night of Jan. 31. Her family reported her missing around noon on Feb. 1.
The update about the glove comes after investigators said DNA evidence not belonging to Guthrie or her close contacts was found at her home. Authorities have also said blood located on the exterior porch matched her DNA.

The FBI has also released additional information about the suspect shown in the video. The individual is described as a male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with an average build. In the footage, he is wearing a black, 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack. The FBI said the details are based on forensic analysis of the doorbell camera video and are intended to help focus public tips.
A $100,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Guthrie’s recovery or an arrest.
