Jacob LaGrone — whose extravagant 2023 Paris wedding went viral and was widely dubbed the “wedding of the century” — is scheduled to stand trial early next year.
The trial for LaGrone, who faces felony charges for allegedly firing a gun at three North Texas police officers in March 2023, has been set for Jan. 8, 2026, according to court records obtained by WFAA.
The Tarrant County District Attorney did not immediately respond to a request for confirmation on the trial date.
According to LaGrone’s indictment, obtained by The Washington Post, officers responded to multiple calls about a firearm being discharged at a private residence. When they arrived, LaGrone allegedly “fired upon” them.
The officers further alleged that LaGrone “did intentionally and knowingly threaten imminent bodily injury” to them and “did use or exhibit a deadly weapon during the commission of the assault, namely, a firearm.”

LaGrone was reportedly arrested and indicted on three counts of aggravated assault on a public servant, a first-degree felony in Texas, and was later released on a $20,000 bond. He made his first court appearance on Nov. 30, 2023 — about two weeks after his Paris wedding — for a motion hearing related to the charges.
If convicted, LaGrone faces a possible sentence of up to 99 years in prison. However, documents obtained by The Dallas Morning News indicate he was offered a 25-year plea deal by the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office.
LaGrone married Madelaine Brockway, a car dealership heiress through her father Bob Brockway, in an opulent five-day celebration held at several Parisian landmarks. The festivities reportedly included a sleepover at the Palace of Versailles, a private lunch at the Chanel Haute Couture Suite and a rehearsal dinner at the Paris Opera House.
The couple, whose wedding was reported to have cost around $59 million, exchanged vows at Chateau de Villette, a grand estate about 40 minutes outside Paris, and opened their reception with a performance by Maroon 5.

Following LaGrone’s arrest, Brockway stepped away from TikTok and took a roughly six-month break from Instagram before returning in the summer of 2024 with photos of the couple traveling together.
Brockway marked the one-year anniversary of their wedding in November 2024 on Instagram by sharing a photo from their engagement shoot with the caption, “Happy 1 year sugar.” She later celebrated their two-year anniversary on Nov. 18 with recent photos of the pair in front of the Eiffel Tower alongside older wedding images, writing, “2 years yo.”

In January 2025, Brockway announced on Instagram that she and LaGrone were expecting their first child together. In June 2025, she shared that their baby, Rhône Day, had been born.
