Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin marked Christmas this year with a new addition to their household.

In an Instagram post shared Thursday, Dec. 25, Hilaria, 41, introduced a husky puppy named Laila, whom the family recently welcomed following the loss of their dog, Dama, earlier this fall.

Hilaria offered a peek at Laila in a family photo taken in front of a Christmas tree. She held the puppy while sitting beside Alec, 67, and their children: Carmen Gabriela, Rafael Thomas, Leonardo Ángel Charles, Romeo Alejandro David, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, María Lucía Victoria, and Ilaria Catalina Irena. Alec is also father to Ireland Baldwin, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

In a second photo, Hilaria lifted Laila toward the camera, showing the puppy’s black-and-red checkered bow collar. Additional videos and images captured the kids taking turns petting and holding their new pup.

Other snapshots from the post showed the children opening gifts, including a Barbie for María Lucía, 4, and a Bluey toy for Ilaria, 2. The family also shared a few quieter moments from the season—two of their daughters putting makeup on each other and María Lucía rolling out dough while dressed in what appeared to be a Moana costume.

“Merry Christmas y Feliz Navidad ❤️💚❤️💚!,” Hilaria wrote. “We send you so much love 🎄🌟.”

Reflecting on the family’s recent loss, she added, “We lost our dog, Dama, in the fall…she was over 13 years and had a wonderful life, but it was still so sad.” While noting that Dama can’t be replaced, she said the children had been asking for a puppy—and she ultimately agreed. “So my ‘what’s one more?’ personality said yes and we’d like to introduce you to Laila 💜.

Hilaria said the family has already grown attached to Laila, and that their other pets have warmed to her as well—especially their cat, Paolo, who she wrote “has adopted her, just as he does with the other pups.” She joked that the main challenge so far is “taking turns holding her 😂 @mycrazypomskys 🦄.”

Later this month, the Dancing with the Stars alum told gurus magazine that she and Alec have been considering a move, saying they’re thinking about relocating from the Hamptons to Los Angeles.

Alec has also spoken recently about relying on his children during a difficult period. During a Dec. 5 appearance on The Adam Friedland Show, he said that after the 2021 incident on the set of Rust that led to the death of Halyna Hutchins and the legal proceedings that followed, he spent much of his time at home and credited his kids with helping him through it.

“I’m 67 years old, I got a 3-year-old baby, so I got a lot of kids at home … and they saved my life,” he said. “You get to the point where you think less about where you get love than where you give love. One of the more frustrating and even painful things in life is [when] you have nobody to give your love to.”

He continued, “I have a lot of love to give, and I have all these kids around me all day long and I’m not really … doing very much for the last three and a half years. I was home all the time, and they saved me. They saved my life.”
