Eric Trump, the middle son of former President Donald Trump, has opened the door to a potential political future — for himself and possibly for other members of the Trump family.
In a June 27 interview with the Financial Times, Eric, 41, reflected on the toll politics has taken on his family but suggested that, under the right conditions, he could envision entering the political arena.
“The real question is: ‘Do you want to drag other members of your family into it?’” he said. “Would I want my kids to live the same experience over the last decade that I’ve lived? You know, if the answer was yes, I think the political path would be an easy one… I think I could do it.”
He continued, “And by the way, I think other members of our family could do it too.”
Currently, Eric Trump serves as co-executive vice president of the Trump Organization alongside his older brother, Donald Trump Jr. The family-run real estate empire recently expanded into the mobile phone industry, launching a branded cell service in June.
Though Donald Trump Jr., 47, has long played a visible role in his father’s political orbit — rallying crowds, endorsing candidates, and hinting at a future run himself — Eric has largely focused on the business side of the operation. His wife, Lara Trump, however, recently assumed a high-profile position as co-chair of the Republican National Committee, further cementing the family’s political ties.
Politics Runs Deep in the Trump Family
The idea of multiple Trumps pursuing public office isn’t new. The elder Donald Trump was floated as a presidential candidate as far back as the late 1980s, when a grassroots “Draft Trump” campaign began in New Hampshire ahead of the 1988 election.
Now, with Trump in his second term as president and speculation swirling about what comes next, his children’s political ambitions are again in the spotlight.
Eric Trump’s recent comments are the clearest indication yet that a new generation of Trumps may soon step onto the national stage — potentially signaling the beginning of a broader political dynasty.
