Pakistani social media creator Pyari Maryam has died from complications during childbirth, according to local outlets Dunya News, ARY News and the Daily Ausaf. She was 26, per the Hindustan Times.
On Thursday, Dec. 4, Maryam’s husband, Ahsan Ali, shared the heartbreaking news on her Instagram Stories. In a post featuring a photo of the couple’s newborn twin boys, he asked followers to keep the family in their prayers, according to a translated message.
Ali, who covered the babies’ faces with heart emojis, also assured followers that the twins are “safe.”
Maryam, who had built a following of nearly 150,000 people on Instagram, was known for her warm presence online and the emotional, relatable content she posted, according to local reports.
In the weeks leading up to the twins’ birth, she frequently shared videos and photos with Ali, who appeared in several clips wearing a “Dad to Be” T-shirt. She also gave viewers a glimpse into their daily life and relationship across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
In a recent update on Maryam’s TikTok account, Ali requested privacy as the family navigates their grief. He also urged supporters and the wider public to respect their need for space during this period, per the Daily Ausaf.

News of Maryam’s death follows another recent tragedy in the influencer community. Australian content creator Stacey Hatfield — known for championing toxin-free living and natural-ingredient foods on her Natural Spoonfuls website and Instagram — died after giving birth to her son, Axel, on Sept. 29.
Her husband, Nathan Warnecke, announced her passing on Oct. 19.
Earlier this year, on April 1, Matthew Okula also confirmed that his wife, nursing influencer Hailey Okula, had died due to childbirth complications shortly after welcoming their first child, a son named Crew.

In a message posted to Hailey’s Instagram account, which had 420,000 followers at the time and has since grown to over 500,000, Matthew wrote that words could not fully express the depth of his loss. He described Hailey as the partner he had always hoped for — intelligent, driven, caring, loyal and steadfastly supportive throughout their nearly 13 years together — and said she was his “everything.”
