JoJo Siwa is starting 2026 with a fresh identity and plenty of anticipation. The 22-year-old musician, dancer, and social media star made a subtle but buzzworthy update on New Year’s Eve, changing the name on her TikTok profile.

Fans quickly noticed that the “Karma” singer now lists herself as Joelle Siwa for her 46 million followers on the platform. The change sparked conversation across social media, with some pointing out in a Reddit thread that Siwa’s boyfriend, Chris Hughes, has also been calling her “Joelle” in a since-expired Instagram Story.

In her final TikTok of 2025, Siwa hinted at what might be coming next. The video shows her lip-syncing to her 2016 hit “Boomerang,” with on-screen text asking, “Any plans for 2026?” followed by “Me:” above her. She captioned the post, “What a year it is ahead ✨🤍.”

The comments quickly filled with reactions—both to the tease and the name change. “The name change ❤❤❤ perfect for 2026! Happy New Year ❤❤,” one fan wrote. Another added, “Joelle feels so authentic, wishing you every happiness in 2026.”

While a few viewers admitted confusion, longtime followers were quick to clarify that the name isn’t new at all. “Her real name is Joelle, Jojo was just a nickname. Are y’all new here?” one commenter joked.

Beyond upcoming projects, Siwa has also been open about her personal life. After confirming her relationship with Love Island star Chris Hughes over the summer, the couple has begun talking about the possibility of engagement.

In a joint interview with The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine, Hughes explained that he prefers not to propose during the holidays. “You always get people who get engaged [at] Christmas. You see it on Instagram—every year you’re gonna see somebody who gets engaged. I kinda like the idea of it not being at a time where it could be expected,” he said.

When Siwa suggested she might propose herself, Hughes made his feelings clear. “I’ve spoken to people about this before you, obviously. And I actually said, ‘I think if I was proposed to, that would make me really uncomfortable,’” he noted.

Siwa teased that if he didn’t ask within seven years, she’d take matters into her own hands. Hughes responded with a smile: “It shouldn’t take you seven years to work out if you want to marry someone. So you can go off that and then that won’t ever happen.”
