Alexis Wilkins, the girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel, is speaking out against online conspiracy theories accusing her of being a foreign intelligence agent, calling the rumors “incredibly disheartening” and baseless.
The 26-year-old country singer, who has been dating Patel since early 2023, addressed the growing speculation during an appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show this week. Some online voices have falsely alleged that Wilkins is “honeypotting” Patel on behalf of a foreign government, even suggesting ties to Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.
“I think people want to connect dots—especially after everything they’ve seen over the past few years,” Wilkins said. “But the reality is, these so-called pieces of evidence are being strung together in completely the wrong ways.”
The conspiracy theories gained traction following a July 6 memo from the Justice Department and FBI, which concluded that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide and refuted rumors about a hidden client list. In the wake of the memo, some online commentators began targeting Wilkins, incorrectly labeling her as Jewish and insinuating Mossad involvement.
Part of the speculation appears to stem from her past appearances on PragerU, a conservative nonprofit media outlet. Critics noted that PragerU’s CEO, Marissa Streit, once served in the Israeli military. However, Wilkins is Armenian and Christian, with no known links to Israel or any intelligence service.
Asked point-blank by Kelly whether she was a spy, Wilkins replied emphatically: “Definitely not—that is a firm no on that front.”
In a post earlier this month on X (formerly Twitter), Wilkins criticized those spreading the rumors, calling them opportunists exploiting political tensions after Donald Trump’s recent election win. “It’s disappointing to see people with no real contribution to political discourse spin ridiculous conspiracy theories out of thin air,” she wrote. “These accusations are obviously insanely ridiculous.”
Wilkins also opened up about her relationship with Patel, revealing they first met at a mutual friend’s gathering in Nashville in 2022. Despite their 19-year age difference, she said their bond has never been about age but shared values.
“I just liked that he was so honest,” she said. “His character is incredible. He’s the most integrity-filled person I’ve ever met. We’re both extremely patriotic, and we just connect on so many levels.”
Wilkins says she’s determined not to let the conspiracy chatter define her, emphasizing her support for Patel and their commitment to each other in the face of mounting public scrutiny.
