Kim Kardashian has posted an emotional tribute to her childhood friend Lindsay May, who passed away from cancer earlier this year.

The 44-year-old reality star reflected on the loss of her longtime friend in a moving Instagram post, revealing how much she still feels May’s absence months after her death in February. The two grew up together in Beverly Hills and remained close throughout their lives.

Sharing throwback photos of their friend group celebrating May’s 38th birthday last year, Kardashian marked what would have been her first “heavenly birthday” at a lake house alongside their tight-knit circle—Allison Statter, Simone Harouche, and Sarah Meyer Michaelson—friends she lovingly calls her “lifers.”

“It was just your birthday and I know you never liked to make a big deal of it, but Happy Heavenly Birthday, Lindz,” Kardashian wrote. “I waited months to post this, mostly because I couldn’t find the right words. Nothing really captures how quiet and empty our lifers chat feels without you in it.”

She added, “I know you’d probably roll your eyes at me posting anything—especially since you didn’t really even have social media—but I couldn’t go through this lake trip without feeling you everywhere, and I needed to share it.”

Kardashian said the lake house, which she described as May’s “happy place,” now holds even more meaning for their group. “It made you feel lighter, healthier… you were you,” she wrote. “We felt your absence this year in every sunset, every laugh, every quiet moment.”

Looking back at their time together, Kardashian said, “I feel so grateful for all the memories we made. We miss you so f***ing much, Lindz. Our world is not the same without you. I guess that’s why I hold onto this lake tradition so tightly. We’ll always have the lake—and in that, we’ll always have a piece of you.”

Lindsay May was the founder of Mayflower Entertainment, a consulting agency that helped connect luxury brands like Gucci with the entertainment world. Kardashian and her close group of friends all attended Marymount High School in Bel Air and have stayed in touch ever since, supporting one another through life’s milestones.

Kardashian previously celebrated her inner circle in a post titled “Lifers Appreciation Post,” writing, “Life is better when you have your lifers!” alongside an infinity symbol.

Now, those same friends are honoring May’s memory by keeping their traditions alive—together.
