A resurfaced LinkedIn post by Astronomer HR Chief Kristin Cabot, in which she claimed she “wins the trust of CEOs,” is drawing renewed attention following a viral incident involving the company’s CEO Andy Byron at a Coldplay concert.
The two executives have yet to issue a public statement after a now-viral video showed them sharing a cozy moment during a “kiss cam” segment at the concert. When the camera zoomed in on the pair, Byron abruptly ducked out of the frame while Cabot turned away and covered her face with her hands—prompting lead singer Chris Martin to joke from the stage:
“Oh, what … either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”
Viral Video Sparks ‘Coldplaygate’
The clip quickly spread online and has since been dubbed “Coldplaygate” on social media, fueling speculation about a possible relationship between Byron and Cabot. The awkwardness of their on-camera reactions only added to the intrigue, with users pointing to past professional interactions between the two.
LinkedIn Posts Add Fuel to Speculation
In one LinkedIn post, Cabot had written:
“I lead by example and win trust with employees of all levels, from CEOs to managers to assistants.”
She also referenced Byron in a post from seven months ago, expressing enthusiasm about working with him and the company’s leadership team:
“I have been energized in my conversations with Andy Byron and the Astronomer leadership team about the opportunities that exist here, including aiding our employees’ career development.”
Cabot described her role as focused on “people strategy” rather than traditional HR, emphasizing the alignment of workforce goals with business outcomes.
Byron, in a past statement about her hire, praised Cabot as a “proven leader” with a passion for building inclusive, collaborative workplaces.
Company Founder Distances Himself
Adding to the buzz, Astronomer’s founder recently appeared to take a subtle jab at Byron, publicly distancing himself from the unfolding drama.
As of now, both Byron and Cabot remain silent on the matter. The viral video, however, has thrust the company’s internal dynamics—and its top leadership—into an unflattering spotlight.
