A man and his teenage son have been arrested and charged in connection with the killing of a woman in Oregon.

On Thursday, Oct. 23, detectives from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and the Oregon City Police Department arrested William Glen Blake, 56, for the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Jennifer Ruth Stuart, 38, according to a news release shared by the CCSO on Friday, Oct. 24.

Blake has been charged with second-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, unlawful use of a weapon, and tampering with evidence. He is currently being held without bail, according to Clackamas County public records.

Authorities also arrested Blake’s 15-year-old son for his alleged role in moving Stuart’s remains. The teenager faces charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence. His name has not been released due to his age.

Investigators believe Blake killed Stuart on Aug. 15 at their shared home in Oregon City. Her body was discovered more than two weeks later, on Sept. 1, in Mount Hood National Forest in Clackamas County.

In an update shared on Saturday, Oct. 25, the CCSO confirmed that investigators had also spoken to Blake’s 17-year-old son regarding the alleged crime.

“She was a good girl, but she’s in a better place, I guess,” Stuart’s friend Mike Chaney told local Fox affiliate KPTV. “When I found out, it hit me in my stomach — it hurt. Why do we have to lose the good ones when there are so many bad people out there?”
