An Ohio man accused in the 2020 death of a toddler has been arrested five years later in Massachusetts.
Dioblis Williams, 25, was taken into custody on Wednesday, Aug. 27, around 8:30 a.m. in downtown Framingham, according to a news release from the Framingham Police Department (FPD).
Williams is accused of killing 2-year-old Jamir Jones, who was found unconscious in a bathtub in Columbus, Ohio, five years ago.
Police said Williams was wearing a wig when officers spotted him.

Framingham police officer Andrew Lewis was in the area for a briefing with the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) and the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS), who were already working on the case.
Lewis noticed two people walking down the sidewalk, one of whom appeared to be in a wig. Officers soon determined that the person was Williams.
He was arrested and booked at the FPD. Williams is facing charges of Fugitive from Justice in Massachusetts and Murder in Ohio. Authorities have not said why he was in Massachusetts.
Deputy Chief Sean Riley told KOLD News 13, “That person was in our community and wanted for a pretty horrific crime.”

According to the outlet, Williams tried to run when another officer approached him, but he tripped, dropped the wig, and surrendered. Investigators also said they tracked him to the area by monitoring his Instagram activity.
Williams has been officially charged with murder in connection to the child’s death.
According to 10TV, police originally responded to a 2020 report of a drowning while Williams was babysitting his girlfriend’s son. Court documents say Williams left the boy alone in the bathtub, where he was later found unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
An autopsy revealed the toddler had blunt force injuries to his stomach along with bruises on his abdomen, head, and neck, according to the outlet.
Acting U.S. Marshal Kevin Neal released a statement saying, “Today’s arrest is a reminder that you can run, but you can’t hide. Mr. Williams thought that he could evade arrest and accountability by hiding in Massachusetts. I hope that today’s arrest brings us one step closer to justice for a young child whose life ended tragically.”
The U.S. Marshals Service said Williams will appear in a Massachusetts court before being extradited to Ohio.
