The 35-year-old welcomed a baby boy with her husband Tom Ackerley in October last year, though the couple have yet to reveal his name or birth date.

Australian actor Margot Robbie is finally opening up about motherhood — and in her own words, it’s simply “the best.”

The Birds of Prey star, who became a mother last year, shared her thoughts on parenthood while promoting her upcoming film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, set to release on September 19. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Margot admitted that capturing the experience in words is nearly impossible. “If you try to explain it to someone who has kids, you don’t need to because they get it,” she said. “And if they don’t, it’s probably just really boring to hear. So, you’re just kind of like, ‘It’s the best.’”

The 35-year-old and Tom, her partner of more than a decade, quietly welcomed their son in October 2024, with the news confirmed weeks later by People. Since then, they have kept details private, including their child’s name and birthday. Yet in Margot’s rare public remarks, the joy of motherhood is unmistakable.

Her co-star from the upcoming film, Colin Farrell, reflected on the same subject, noting how profoundly parenthood can shift one’s perspective. “It’s meant everything to me. Yet, I don’t want to put that they’re everything to me on them — but they are the most important facet of my life,” he shared in the interview.

Even though Margot has largely kept her role as a mother out of the spotlight, it hasn’t stopped her son from occasionally making appearances. During another interview with Access Hollywood, the Oscar-nominated actress paused mid-conversation with a smile, apologizing: “I’m sorry about how loud my baby is.”

For someone who has navigated both blockbuster stardom and indie credibility, Margot’s transition into motherhood adds a new layer to her life. Known for guarding her private world, she may not share every detail of family life. But in her brief comments, the message was clear — parenthood, for Margot Robbie, doesn’t need an elaborate explanation. It’s simply the best.
