Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene says former President Donald Trump was “furious” with her over her insistence on making more documents related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein public.

In a preview clip from her upcoming 60 Minutes interview with journalist Leslie Stahl, the Republican from Georgia recounts a tense phone call with Trump, 79. The interview marks Greene’s first extended sit-down since she announced in January that she intends to resign from Congress.

“We did talk about the Epstein files, and he was extremely angry at me that I had signed the discharge petition to release the files,” Greene, 51, said, referencing her decision to back a U.S. House petition compelling the government to release all documents tied to Epstein.

After a bill mandating the release of those materials quickly cleared both the House and Senate, Trump ultimately signed it into law, despite previously trying to block it. The legislation requires the Justice Department to disclose all documents related to Epstein and information connected to the investigation into his 2019 death in federal custody within 30 days, according to the Associated Press.

“I fully believe those women deserve everything they’re asking,” Greene told Stahl, referring to Epstein’s victims. “They’re asking for all of it to come out. They deserve it. And he was furious with me.”

When Stahl pressed Greene on what, exactly, Trump had said to her, Greene paused before answering. “He said that it was going to hurt people,” she replied.

Greene has represented Georgia’s 14th congressional district since January 2021 and has been one of Trump’s most outspoken allies. In recent months, however, the two have clashed, with Greene publicly criticizing some of Trump’s decisions — including his earlier resistance to making Epstein-related records public.

In November, Trump claimed Greene had “lost her way” and withdrew his endorsement. He reportedly called her a “traitor” the day after she said she was “being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world.”

On Nov. 21, Greene announced that she plans to step down from Congress effective Jan. 5, 2026, describing how she has been treated by some within her own party as “unfair” and “wrong.”

“I have too much self-respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms,” Greene said in a video message.

“And in turn, be expected to defend the President against impeachment after he hatefully dumped tens of millions of dollars against me and tried to destroy me. It’s all so absurd and completely unserious,” she continued. “I refuse to be a ‘battered wife’ hoping it all goes away and gets better.”

Greene’s 60 Minutes interview is scheduled to air Sunday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
