The first trailer for Melania Trump’s upcoming documentary has been released.

On Dec. 17, the first lady shared a first look at her forthcoming documentary, Melania, which is set to debut globally in theaters on Jan. 30, 2026, after Amazon reportedly purchased the film rights for $40 million.

The film follows Melania in the first 20 days of 2025, leading up to the second inauguration of her husband, President Donald Trump.

The trailer opens on Inauguration Day, with Melania in a dark, fitted dress and a wide-brimmed hat that shades her eyes. As she walks into the U.S. Capitol rotunda for the swearing-in, she turns toward the camera and says, “Here we go again.”

In another scene, Melania steps into a room where Donald is at a podium rehearsing a speech. “My proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker,” the president says. From off to the side, Melania adds sharply, “Peacemaker and unifier.”

According to the film’s synopsis, the documentary follows the first lady “as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and moves her family back to the Nation’s Capital.” It also promises glimpses of “critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments.”

The footage then cuts through a rapid montage: moments from the inauguration ceremony, scenes at Mar-a-Lago, appearances by the couple’s son Barron, and behind-the-scenes shots tied to Melania’s inaugural wardrobe.

“Everybody wants to know,” Melania says in voiceover, as clips show her stepping into her role. “So here it is.”

The trailer ends with Melania taking a call from her husband while standing in a gilded high-rise office. “Hi Mr. President, congratulations!” she says.

“Did you watch it?” Donald asks. Melania replies, “I did not, yeah, I will see it on the news.”

In a statement included in the film’s press release, Melania describes the documentary as “history … in motion,” adding that she looks forward to audiences seeing “a private, unfiltered look as I navigate family, business, and philanthropy on my remarkable journey to becoming First Lady of the United States of America.”

Melania serves as an executive producer on the film licensed by Amazon. Per the New York Post, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos “took a personal interest” in the documentary, which reportedly helped strengthen his relationship with the Trumps.

Melania is scheduled to debut in theaters internationally on Jan. 30, 2026.
