Miley Cyrus is lighting up some surprising memories from her Disney Channel days — and her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, is at the center of them.
During a new episode of the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast, hosted by her mom Tish and sister Brandi, Miley didn’t hold back when asked about her most unforgettable Hannah Montana moment.
“Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it,” the 32-year-old Flowers singer said without hesitation.
Her mother, Tish, 58, burst into laughter, while Brandi, 38, offered a stunned side-eye before finally admitting, “I do remember that.”
Disney Drama in Hindsight
From 2006 to 2011, Hannah Montana was a Disney Channel staple — with Miley and her real-life father, Billy Ray, playing on-screen father and daughter. But according to Miley, things behind the scenes weren’t always so squeaky clean.
Though Miley called the memory “hilarious,” Tish—who divorced Billy Ray in 2022 after nearly three decades of marriage—admitted she was in denial at the time.
“I used to get calls saying he was smoking pot, and I’d be like, ‘Absolutely not, he would never do that,’” Tish said.
Instead, she pointed fingers at Miley’s co-star Mitchel Musso, who played Oliver Oken on the show.
But Miley wasn’t letting anyone off the hook.
“It was Mitchel Musso. It was both,” she clarified, throwing them both under the proverbial tour bus.
Mitchel Musso Responds: That’s Not How I Remember It
Mitchel Musso has since responded to Miley’s claims, offering his own take in a statement to E! News.
“Well, that’s not how I remember it,” he said. “But I’ve got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. If we’re revisiting Hannah Montana history — just say the word.”
Still, he kept things lighthearted, adding, “All love to Miley and the fam, even when the rewrites get this creative.”
As for Billy Ray Cyrus, the Achy Breaky Heart singer has yet to respond publicly to his daughter’s on-air revelations.
