A much-loved mother has died following a car crash in England just days after Christmas.
Karen Marks, 34, was driving along the A10 near the city of Ely at around 12:25 p.m. local time on Sunday, Dec. 28, when her white Fiat Punto collided with a single-decker bus, according to Cambridgeshire Police.
Marks, who was from Littleport in Cambridgeshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement shared by police, her family described her as a “very much-loved daughter, mother and sister” who left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

“Once you met Karen, you would never forget her,” the statement said. Her family added that she “was like a firework,” lighting up every room she entered.
A male passenger in the car, identified only as a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but is now in stable condition, police said. No one on the bus was injured.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage from the moments before or during the incident, to come forward.
Ely is the second smallest city in England and is located about 80 miles from London, according to CambridgeshireLive.
