The shooting took place near West 44th Street and 7th Avenue. Social media footage shows tourists scattering outside the Hard Rock Cafe — a popular attraction in the area — after gunfire erupted. In one video, a car is seen pulling over to the curb outside the venue, according to The Sun and The Independent. Witnesses also reported spotting bullet holes in a vehicle’s window.

Police arrested a 17-year-old suspect near the scene, and officers recovered a firearm, The Independent said.

One witness posted video on X showing emergency responders assisting a man lying on the ground after the shooting. “Three people have been shot in the heart of Times Square,” the caption read, per The Times. “Bodies are on the ground, bullet holes pierce car windows. The chaos unfolded near a major tourist area. One suspect is in custody.”

Another video shared on X captured crowds running through Times Square moments after the shots were fired.
