A play yard sold on Amazon by Anna Queen has been recalled after federal safety regulators warned it could pose a serious danger to infants.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on Thursday, Nov. 20, saying the product fails to meet mandatory federal safety standards for play yards. According to the agency, infants could slip into gaps under the mattress or between the mattress and the side of the play yard, creating an entrapment hazard that can lead to suffocation.

The CPSC reported that no incidents or injuries have been linked to the product as of Nov. 20. The play yards were sold on Amazon beginning in March for about $100 to $110. They were manufactured in China, and roughly 70 units are included in the recall.

The recalled playpen features black fabric sides with gray-trimmed mesh panels. The top rails are wrapped in white fabric printed with multicolored bear faces, paw prints, and the word “bear.” The mattress pad carries the same bear design.

Consumers can identify the recalled item by the markings “Model: P700” and “Production Date: 202503,” which appear on the packaging and on a removable tag attached to the play yard.

The agency is urging anyone who bought the product to stop using it immediately and contact Anna Queen to request a refund. To receive a full refund, buyers are instructed to disassemble the fabric cover from the frame, cut up the cover and mattress pad, and then send a photo of the destroyed product to the company. Once that is done, the damaged play yard can be discarded.

In its notice, the CPSC explained that a play yard is a framed enclosure with a floor and mesh or fabric sides intended for sleeping and supervised play for children who are less than 35 inches tall and cannot climb out. Federal standards require these products to meet specific rules for side height, strength, floor durability, mesh performance, and fabric safety to reduce the risk of injury.
