TAMPA, Florida — Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) says President Donald Trump is the “peace president” and should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in brokering a historic ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
Speaking to Breitbart News at the Turning Point Student Action Summit over the weekend, Moreno announced he had introduced a Senate resolution formally calling on the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award Trump the 2025 Peace Prize. The resolution praises Trump for achieving a breakthrough in Middle East diplomacy, stating:
“Resolved, That the Senate — (1) calls on the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award President Donald John Trump the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize; (2) urges all peace-loving nations to join in that call; and (3) expresses its deepest appreciation to President Trump for bringing an end both to the nuclear program of Iran and hostilities related thereto in only 12 days.”
Moreno contrasted Trump’s recent efforts with what he called the chaos under President Joe Biden.
“Thanks to Biden, we had a bloody war in Eastern Europe, a disaster in the Middle East, China threatening Taiwan, a wide open border, and growing instability in Africa,” he said.
Moreno credited Trump with restoring global stability. “He prevented a nuclear war between Pakistan and India, ended the conflict between Rwanda and Congo, and silenced China’s ambitions toward Taiwan,” he said. “And look at the Middle East — Iran is once again brought to its knees. It was Trump who pushed them down, and Biden who lifted them back up with billions of dollars.”
Calling Trump’s record “unmatched,” Moreno didn’t hold back in comparing it to past Peace Prize winners. “Obama got the Nobel for simply winning an election,” he said. “If Trump doesn’t get the Nobel Peace Prize, then the whole process has zero credibility. They might as well shut it down.”
